Brooklyn Prospect High School named one of the Best High Schools in 2024!
Brooklyn Prospect High School (BPHS) is proud to announce its inclusion in the 2024 Best High Schools rankings by U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in education rankings.
Rigorous academics in a small school setting
Brooklyn Prospect High School (BPHS) is a rigorous yet supportive college-preparatory program that provides robust academic offerings in a small school setting. As the only high school campus within the Prospect Schools network, we guide students along the final stages of their K-12 journey and equip our graduates to meet increasing academic demands while cultivating greater self-advocacy and leadership.
Diverse in every way
Diversity is foundational to our approach to high school. We have no single racial or ethnic majority amongst our student body and 60% of employees identify as persons of color. Nearly 48% of students qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch, and nearly 30% have IEPs or 504 plans. At our Windsor Terrace campus, we serve students from a diverse array of Brooklyn communities such as Sunset Park, Park Slope, Borough Park, Kensington, and Flatbush.
"My time at Brooklyn Prospect solidified my love for science. The challenging IB courses, along with the passionate teachers, pushed me beyond the basics and showed me what it truly means to study science at a higher level."

IB for All
Brooklyn Prospect High School offers the globally-recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) program and is one of the only non-selective, public, IB World Schools in New York City. Our curriculum is standardized for access and equity, and every student who comes through our doors has the opportunity to participate in the full Diploma Program (DP) without the barrier of an application or screening process.
Preparing the whole student
Prospect Schools is committed to supporting the whole student academically and personally. Each year, our high school students are grouped in an Advisory that meets 3x per week to build community, foster an active lens towards justice, and increase their social emotional competencies (SEL).
“It was definitely tough, but it was worth it. I think all the studying is going to prepare me for college really well.”

- 4% in two-year colleges
- 6% Alternative Plans: workforce, trade school
“Thank you to our college counselors. I know that they helped me every step of the way—from activities lists to financial aid documents. I could not have done it without the college team. Extremely crucial.”
